Introduction
World Cancer Day is celebrated globally on 4 February each year to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and equitable access to care. For 2026, the international theme was “United by Unique” highlighting that each person’s experience with cancer is distinct, yet the global community stands together to fight the disease. At Nootan Ayurveda College & Research Centre, an event was organized on 4 February 2026 to commemorate World Cancer Day, including an awareness program and an expert lecture by Dr. Meenakshi Manerikar.
Objectives of the Event
The main goals of the event were to: • Educate students and faculty about cancer risk factors, symptoms, screening, and early diagnosis.
• Discuss the role of preventive measures and healthy lifestyle practices in reducing cancer risk. • Encourage integrative approaches — combining Ayurvedic principles with modern
preventive strategies

• Inspire future healthcare professionals to contribute to cancer awareness and care.
Inaugural Session
The program began with a brief inaugural address by Dr. Athira mam emphasizing the importance of World Cancer Day and the need for heightened community awareness and early detection.

• Basic Understanding of Cancer: Definition, common types, global and national statistics (highlighting the increasing cancer burden and the benefits of early diagnosis). • Warning Signs & Risk Factors: Typical signs such as persistent lumps, unexplained fatigue, weight loss, or changes in body function; lifestyle risk factors including tobacco use, diet, and environmental exposures.
• Early Screening & Prevention: Importance of regular screening programs and lifestyle choices (healthy diet, physical activity) to reduce cancer risk.
• Ayurvedic Perspective: insights into holistic well-being, immunity support, stress management, and supportive care approaches within Ayurveda.
• Q&A Session: Students and faculty were engaged in an interactive Q&A where practical queries about cancer detection, care, and misconceptions were addressed.

Introduction
An educational visit to Ayurveda Rasashala, Pune was organized for the 2nd Professional BAMS students of Nootan Ayurvedic College and Research Center on 5th January 2026. The visit was planned as part of the Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana curriculum to provide practical exposure to classical as well as modern pharmaceutical practices in Ayurveda.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Meenakshi Manerikar, HOD & Professor, and Dr. Monika Prajapati, Assistant Professor, Department of Rasashastra and BhaishajyaKalpana.

The students were warmly received by the officials of Ayurveda Rasashala, Pune. An introductory session was conducted explaining the history, vision, and contribution of the institution in the field of Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing.
Students were guided through various sections of the Rasashala, including:
Detailed explanations were provided regarding standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety measures followed during drug preparation.

The educational visit to Ayurveda Rasashala, Pune was highly informative and beneficial for the 2nd Professional BAMS students. It enriched their understanding of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana and motivated them to appreciate the scientific and systematic approach of Ayurvedic pharmaceutics. The objectives of the visit were successfully achieved, making it a valuable academic experience.

Basant Panchami, the auspicious festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, and learning, was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervor at NACRC, Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), Visnagar. The program was organized in the Prayer Hall of the institution.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, reflecting the institution’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural and academic traditions. The program commenced with a Saraswati Pooja, performed in a serene and disciplined atmosphere, invoking blessings for intellect, wisdom, and academic excellence.
This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the removal of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge. Subsequently, Samhita Adhyayana (recitation of classical Ayurvedic texts) was conducted collectively, emphasizing the importance of traditional learning and reverence for ancient wisdom in Ayurveda.
