
The Department of Agadatantra, Nootan Ayurvedic College & Research Centre, Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, successfully organized an educational visit to the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS), Gandhinagar on 28 July 2026 for the Second Professional BAMS (Senior Batch) students.
The visit was accompanied by Dr. Sreejith K, Dr. Sakshi Tyagi and Soni Nidhi viralkumar . The primary objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application by providing students with first-hand exposure to modern forensic science practices and medico-legal investigations.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the functioning of various forensic science divisions and gained valuable insights into the scientific methods employed in crime investigation. The experts at DFS demonstrated advanced techniques used in forensic toxicology, forensic biology, forensic chemistry, DNA analysis, fingerprint examination, questioned document examination, ballistics, cyber forensics, and other specialised forensic disciplines. Students were also introduced to sophisticated analytical instruments and laboratory protocols followed in forensic case investigations.
The interactive sessions conducted by the forensic experts enabled students to understand the crucial role of forensic science in the administration of justice and its relevance to medico-legal practice.
