1. Introduction
Department of Ayurved Samhita and Siddhant is the basic department which deals with all the fundamentals of Ayurved that taught by the departmental faculties throughout all the academic year of Under Graduate students. The subjects that are covered by the department are Padarth Vijyana, Samhita Adhyayan 1 and Sanskrit evum Ayurved Itihas in 1st Professional Year, Samhita Adhyayan 2 in 2nd Professional Year and Samhita Adhyayan 3 in 3nd Professional Year.
2. Subjects’ details that covered by Department:
- Padartha Vijyana: The most important and difficult subject of the whole UG program but most scoring subject that deals with the basic principles like Darshan, Praman and Padarth.
- Samhita Adhyayan 1: It includes the Initial 15 Adhyay of Ashtanga Hrudaya Sutrasthana and Initial 12 Adhayay of Charaka Samhita Sutrasthana along with introduction of Samhita. This provides baby step to the students in the Samhita of the Ayurved.
- Sanskrit evum Ayurved Itihas: This teaches by the separate Sanskrit teacher that enhances the interest and understanding of the students for Sanskrit language and thus in Ayurved Samhita, too. Itihas connects the students in to all the possible work that done by the scholar of the Ayurved for the propagation and revival of the Life science.
- Samhita Adhyayan 2: This includes the Purvardha of the Charaka Samhita that provides detailed view of general medicine. It guides about the most important fundamentals of the Ayurved Chikitsa.
- Samhita Adhyayan 3: Charaka Samhita Uttarardha that about the most clinical aspects includes the Panchakarma and all the branches of Ayurved is in this portion. It is the most practical aspect that mainly used by physicians.
