1. Introduction
Department of Rachana Sharira stands as one of important pillar of basic principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda which is collection of principles of life that took birth with world itself & is not liable to change at any time or in any part of world. The principles of Ayurveda were discovered by Lord Brahma & later this big compilation was divided into 8 branches. The basement needed for exploring these 8 branches, one should have thorough knowledge in Rachana Sharira, which deals with structural aspect of sharira or human body & mind.
achana Sharira department provides a wide scope of knowledge of Human body by Cadaveric dissection ( macroscopic anatomy), Histology (microscopic anatomy), Study of bones ( Osteology) helps in Radiology & improves examination skill of a scholar. Knowledge in Applied anatomy will enable the scholar to do preliminary diagnosis of the diseases. Better understanding of the anatomy of the organs & systems will make a better surgeon.
A unique aspect of Rachana shareeram in Ayurveda is knowledge of Vital points or Marmas, which have to be protected when performing surgical procedures & injury to which can lead to disastrous consequences including death. Knowledge of these vital spots & techniques to manipulate them is essential to become proficient in therapeutic massage that stimulates prana & revitalises the body.
